Hickory is a species of wood that is native to United States and Canada, as well as many other areas of the world.  Known for its prominent grain, and dramatic color variation, Hickory is very popular for its use in fine furniture.   The heartwood is tan in appearance, while the sapwood is white or cream in appearance with fine brown lines.  Hickory is a very heavy and durable type of wood, and is very popular from dining table to desks.
